Medical

For many generations, Cannabis has been used throughout the entire planet on a medical level, as well as, recreationally, and spiritually.

Back in the mid-19th century to the 1930s, physicians have recommended and prescribed it for a number of conditions, this was, until the federal government introduced restrictions on its use, this all came to a head in the early 1970’s when the US Congress classified it as a Schedule I substance, illegal, and without medical value. The CBDzine team really does not understand the logic of this move. This all resulted in Marijuana becoming one of the USA’s most widely used illegal substances. Marijuana is generally regarded as pleasurable and relaxing without any danger of the kind of addictions that come from stronger narcotic drugs. This is why we here at CBDzine believe it not to the “gateway drug” it is often accused of being, surely legalisation of cannabis would mean that patients can obtain it from different places, ones that are not trying to sell you these harder narcotics, therefore, having it legalised would make it all safer, but that’s just a personal opinion.

Cannabis has never really lost it’s appeal as an “alternative medicine”, especially with it hitting mainstream status in 1995 when California became the first of many US states to legalise it for medical use, despite the federal ban. That federal ban was changed in 2020, when the US House passed the federal cannabis decriminalisation bill. Seems to have been some of the best news of 2020.

Cannabis isn’t as straightforward as you might think. Its main active ingredient, δ-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, wasn’t properly identified and isolated until 1964, and it wasn’t until the 1990’s before the incredible and far-reaching activities of the endocannabinoid system in the human body was truly appreciated.

This system that the body and mind has raises the question of just how many promising pharmaceutical, and medical applications does this plant actually have.

Recreational / Adult Use is constantly growing, even though there has been claims of there being an addictive side to Marijuana, especially within youth culture. Although, here at CBDzine, we personally believe that this addition potential is based on a feeling, rather than the physical addition that can come from hard narcotics, caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol, hmmm, just a personal thought, aren’t those taxable drugs? As we say, just a personal opinion. There is some obvious downsides, that’s the same as anything else, if you’d like to know more refer to our Possible Side Affects page.

Public opinion seems to be driving harder and harder towards a legalisation of medical Marijuana, with or without any scientific data, although we at CBDzine personally believe that there is evidence to back up it legalisation.

On this page we have aimed to take in both sides of the debate, as well as some personal opinions, with the intention of giving people ways to make up their own minds, is Marijuana a solution, and a remedy for many difficulties and diseases, or a scourge, or even a little of both.

Something to investigate would be endocannabinoid system, CB1 receptors, CB2 receptors, THC, cannabidiol.

There is plenty of information around to clarify the relationships between medical Marijuana, Adult use Marijuana, abuse, and how purchasing Marijuana from unlicensed sellers can introduce a patient to other drugs.
