This recipe can also be adapted to substitute honey with syrup, maple syrup, agave sweetener or molasses.
Infusion time 6 – 8 hours. Makes 1 cup of honey.
¼ ounce crumbled decarboxylated cannabis
1 ½ cups honey
Cut a 10 by 10 inch piece of cheesecloth and place the cannabis in the centre of it. Gather the corners of the cheesecloth and tie tightly (use kitchen twine if you have).
To make in a slow cooker:
Add the honey to the slow cooker along with the cheesecloth bundle, cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, stirring every two hours.
To make in a mason jar:
Bring a saucepan of water to a simmer and place a clean, folded kitchen towel in the bottom of the pan.
Put the honey and cheesecloth bundle in a mason jar and cover with the lid.
Place the jar on the towel in the simmering water for about 6 hours.
Check the water level frequently and add more as necessary. Stir the honey occasionally. Open the jar every hour while infusing to relieve any pressure buildup.
